I am lucky to have a little bit of a behind-the-scenes relationship with Fair RC. I had been begging them for quite a while to do a FCX18 K10 stepside mod. I was so excited when I found out that they were!
I had some participation in the brainstorming phases and tweaking of the print design, so when it came out, Fair RC sent me one! King of the World!

IMHO, I am more of what you would call an “RC fan” than an “RC hobbyist.” I’ve only been in the hobby a few years and don’t have the time to do a lot of trial and error.
Luckily, companies like Batrazzi make bolt-on mods that let you customize your vehicle without having to cut styrene, print 3-D parts, or get out a metal lathe.
I’ve never thought of myself as being handy, but getting into RC‘s has helped me feel like I could actually work with my hands.
For the Stuntman mod, I’ve just always really liked the BEEF of the Mudboy tires, and street look of the Stellar wheels, so that combo was the first must-do.

I also wanted to “murder it out” so decided to apply the hood sticker only, but on the underside for a bit of Easter Egg bad-assedness.

I’ve always wanted to put a driver and clear windows in my White Flatbed Classic mod, and now was the perfect opportunity! I moved the dark windows from the White Flatbed to the Stuntman, and the Stuntman’s clear windows, driver and interior to the White Flatbed. It was a FREE win-win; both trucks turned out for the better!

Let me tell you, though, there were some tense moments getting those window sets out of the cabs! Amazingly, I didn’t break off any tabs or crack any windows, but I had to put it down quite a few times to breathe and calm myself, so I didn’t try to force things along.
Batrazzi makes an awesome aluminum front brush guard, which I had on my red Limited Edition Flatbed Classic, so I stole that for the Stuntman too.

Dennis-Bambam Pruitt suggested that I darken up the head lights and fog lights in the roof rack with some diluted black paint. That’s at the pinnacle of my abilities, LOL, but I’m gonna look into doing that.
Also, I’m researching installing the Ctrl Frk brushless system in it so I can use the light controller in order to get the lights on the roof rack wired up. If there’s an easier way, someone let me know!
I also have some brass portal covers and brass lower links from Batrazzi that will go on the Stuntman.
I might take the exhaust stacks from the White Flatbed, painting the chrome heat guards black. My poor White Flatbed is getting scavenged. It’s getting Batrazzi aluminum side steps, though, as a consolation prize. And I’m hoping it’s happy with the new driver. Trucks have feelings too!
I love the way the Stuntman turned out and I’m excited about future mods to make it even better!

If you’re not that confident in your mechanical skills, don’t worry about it. Go with easy mods like these, and you can get some satisfaction and pride under your belt without losing hair or having a stoke.
This hobby may seem foreboding to two-left-thumb types like me. If that’s also you, don’t be afraid! Haters gonna hate, but the majority of people in the hobby will support you.
Happy Wrenching,
